This week we will look at how persecution pushes the church out into the world and where the name Christian came from.

Last week we looked at this section of acts as an example of a conversion. Paul himself would later write to his spiritual son Timothy that his conversion should be an example to all. This week we will look at that same section of Acts, but focus on the call of Ananias as an example to us of how to respond to the call of God…

It seems that in every generation there are always famous people who we believe cannot be reached. In our generation you might name Osama Bin Laden, or some other well-known terrorist. In the generation that came before me, they might have jumped right to Adolf Hitler. It does not have to be any one so famous you might think that your boss, co-worker, or a member of your family is beyond reach. They may say and do things that lead you to believe that. They may even curse God.

This week we will be looking at the Seven Churches described in chapters two and three of the book which is popularly referred to as “Revelations”, probably because it’s full title is to long, “The Revelation of Jesus Christ according to John” for our modern tongues to bother with.

Last week we look at the death of Stephen and the slow path to destruction that humans march on with each tiny comprise. This week we will turn our attention to the results of Stephen’s death and what it can tell us today.
