I am creating this blog first as a place to share the summaries of my weekly lessons that I teach most Sunday’s at Hyland Heights Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. Over time I will be growing this blog to contain common sense commentary on news headlines, world events and the world at large. I also plan to add a review section for other sites and products I have experience with. For now, the site will be updated weekly, on Sunday evenings with a summary of my lessons.
I presently hold Bachelor’s degrees in Statistics, and Computer Science, and also have earned an Associate’s Degree in General Math, but I never paid the seventy five dollar diploma fee for it. I have studied a very wide variety of subjects in college, including but not limited to Psychology, Physics, Astronomy, Math, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, and Formal Logic. I am presently working on my Masters of Divinity from Liberty University, where I also work as a Senior Applications Developer. I am happily married with one hyperactive son.
I grew up as a devote atheist, who went out of his way to study nature and science in all its forms to know all that I could about all that I could. It was through all this studying that I became convinced that the God of the Christian Holy Bible is the one true God, and I later surrendered my life to Him at a Promise Keepers conference in Louisville, Kentucky. This background gives me a strong and wide foundation in reality that allows me to approach topics from a very down to earth pragmatic and decidedly Biblical view.
In addition to this blog, I run Our Dark Skies, a popular astronomy forum where you can find images taken of both the heavens and the earth by some of the best photographers anywhere. Many who are published many times over and all freely give out advice and help. I have been seen on many other online sites; most often under the handle “VydorScope” or sometimes just “Vydor”, though that name has caught on, especially after a popular RPG game used it in a game title, and many other people have taken to using the handle “Vydor.” I also run Vydor.net where you will see family pictures, and other things that no one except close family cares about.
